Petit Fancy 9

I noticed that I pretty much suck at taking photos at the con, well other then borrowing my friend’s camera at random time to take photos even though I have mine on me. It’s might either too hectic or I’m too tired to get mine, probably the latter. .. or when all else fails and your feet is hurting like hell because you insist on wearing “good looking” shoes instead of comfortable one, you can always ask your lovely friend to take photos for you.. ^^;; That seen to be the only way that I’ll get any sort of photos

So anyway, I actually was still deciding what I want to wear the night before the con, as I just got my sewing machine recently and haven’t finish any new costume yet. Have to say, I’m not quite use to how fast the Taiwan’s con pops up, it’s quite crazy if you ask me. But then I guess this is how most cosplayer use to anyway. So Digikoomi came to visit Taipei from Kaohsiung to shop and also in time to catch the convention too! :D She stay over night with us and it was quite nice to have someone that have quite a few things in common with you around, as we went to the fabric market and she totally loved it more then just your everyday clothes shopping.. same as me.. Of course, having someone to go with to the con is quite enjoyable too. For someone like me that always just show up and then disappear at random time, it sure is different this time. We had to go early than what I’m used to as her train back to Kaohsiung was at 4pm in the afternoon. I made myself iron the costume the night before so I don’t go crazy the next morning. Woke up early next morning, Digi and I put on make up before we left for the convention, as she probably learn by now that Taipei’s con is not a good place for putting on your make up.. especially when it is still hot in the middle of October.Though I have to say she is the smart one with the sunglasses and everything, becasue here we are with this thick cake of make up.. it’s quite award for me to walk on the streets of Taipei it have to be said, but then again it could be just me. It also took me a while to get my hair straighten since I had it perm recently, but alas it was pointless anyway since everything goes curly when i step outside the door where humidity happens..

As we are there early so the con isn’t exactly “open” yet, finding some where to change is another adventure.. which I’m sure Digi doesn’t want to go through again. XD Anyway, after changing and all that we went out to the back courtyard you would say, where all the cosplayer usually gather. I think Digi got shock by the overwhelm number of photographers that ask for her photo, and stuck in different spots a few things. It was the general hanging out, finding friends/run in to friends/making new friends, till my feet decide to give up on me. It was PAINFUL, and draining me energy to no end so we end up in the dealer’s room and I found a spot to crash while Digi went off to check out the different booth. After she came back, I forcedly gather myself to one last round of photos and then went to change back to normal. We manage to get Digi back to our flat in time and to the Metro station and pray that she got to the rail road station in time.. which she did, so it all is good. After a painful days in the “pretty” shoes, I decided that it was the only day that I was going to go to the con, as I was totally beat.

As for the next con I hope I can finish the Rena costume in time.. It sure is something that is giving me a headache right now… ^^;;*cross my fingers*

Comic World Taiwan 19

So I think I’m stuck with rain or something to that extent, so far whenever I want to do anything costume related it always rains. *sigh* The weather was pretty much sprinkling all day for the day I was there for CWT19.  Therefore, some photo that I took or when I have photo taken by othesr are pretty much sprinkling. ^^;; Can’t really tell in the photo can you!?

I make sure I don’t get there TOO late this time, as I’m still trying to get use to the timing of taking public transportation. I took the time and iron everything the day before and sort my wig out. It didn’t like it at all after being travel from the US and being squashed with hair spread on them. Took me quite a LONG time to sort it out. I did my usual routing of putting on the heavy make up for the photo at home, since I REALLY don’t like that at the convention at all. Bear in mind there is no hotel room at Taiwanese con, it is pretty much just at an gymnasium. After I arrived and found my friend Arashi, we chat a bit as we didn’t see each other for few years and proceed to changing. Didn’t take me took long as I already finish the make up, BUT it started raining after we finished changing and started heading out… doh… so it’s all day is pretty much have some photo taken and hid.. and then so on and so forth.. exciting. After the rain wouldn’t stop after a few hours we just decide to change back when head to the closes McD, XD and hang out a bit. That was pretty much my day.

However, it was where Arashi come up with the idea of me doing some commission for her. I was like O.o at first, as I never really did that before and in between thinking about that I should find a “real” job and the latter. I finally decided why not… why not for once not care about what people think I “should” do and just go ahead with what’s in front of me. Anyway, does that even make any sense…. We’ll just see what this will take me, ne?

Anyway on to the photos, the more exciting stuff!

Here is what I learn not to do as a cosplayer. Definitely a stupid idea to brave the Typhoon even if how much you want to cosplay, there are too much rain and wind going. Something I’ll never do again. Since I moved back I have been quite busy, but still decided to go to the con. I didn’t want to miss the chance to cosplay in Taiwan. My original plan was to cosplay Utena for my photographer friend, but it was a bit change in plan becasue of the weather. I arrived around 2 taking the metro, met up with my friend and went to change in to costume. After that it would rain for like a min and stop and keep going like that for a while, we took the chance to take photos and walk around a bit.. but the weather just gradually gets worst.. so we finally decided to change back around 5, by the time i finish change and just walked out of the con area it was POURING like hell. I got home totally drenched. ^^;; I was quite an experience, I didn’t take too much photo for the reason too. I thought I would share it with you guys anyway. :D

Photos of me is by Willow. I love the photo she have taken! She is so talented!
